Front Speakers

Sorry, I forgot to put this on the other post... I have a system installed in the car as well...
Everytime I turn the sound up when I have the fader set to front and back, I get over 12 on the volume and the front speakers chirp whenever the bass hits... I replaced the door speakers because they were doing it on the factorys, but it still does it... but once I transfer the sound all the way to just the 6x9's and the subs, its fine... It's driving me nuts... Any ideas?

Re: Front Speakers

I had this problem with the back speakers, on both the factory and the audiobahns i put in.. I think the problem was there were wires rubbing together, when the bass went, it would vibrate the wires and they would touch, causing a chirp sound... i pretty much just shook my wires around in the trunk and it hasnt done it since, prob be a little more difficult for up front though.

Re: Front Speakers

Do you have high pass filters for your front speakers? Can you adjust your deck to only allow the bass to go to the bigger speakers? Maybe your little ones cant handle the lower frequencies. I would pick up a set of high pass filters from best buy, or even eal-mart has some i think. Wire these guys in via the instructions, and you should be good to turn it all the way up.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HRUMBmG...?g=761&tp=3216 - Bass blockers. They might be the same things tblake is talking about but idk I've just seen these before on there and they sound like a good idea if you have subs so that you can still blast the system without having to worry about blowing your speakers because of the bass.
