what's the diff btw b18b ls and rs???

hey guys what's goin on I am the proud owner of a 95 acura integra rs and i wanna know what's the diff between the ls motor and the rs. I'd like to know this 1. because i have an rs and 2. b/c everyone seems to talk about the ls so what's the deal. I just bought my car and am buyin some engine upgrades so any insight into my rs engine would be "very" much appreciated

P.S.- some fag i know says it's a "waste" of money for me to spend my $$$ on the rs and he is always callin me ricer bitch (cuz he has a stang) and i hate his ass and wanna burn his american pos am i wasting my time with this engine or does it just need a little dough put into it????

thnx boys.... and girls:bandit:

there is no difference between the ls and the rs motors, its all the same b18b.

the ls motor has the potential to be fast but requires more work than say a gsr. i have a friend with a ls w/ intake, header, exhaust, lsd, stage 4 clutch and he ran a 15.4. then he got a 75 shot with slicks and ran a 14.0. and if you got a turbo at 7psi, you would run about a 14.0 also with slicks.

if you get a gsr, stock youll run a 15.2, with all the bolt ons youll probably run a 14.9. then if you get a turbo at 7 psi you probably run 13.9, but if you run an lsd and slicks then youll run around a 13.5.

so with the ls motor, you can run just as fast but you will need to put alittle more work on it to match a gsr with simliar mods.

15.2 you say in a stock gsr?? lol a 99 gsr in motortrend only ran 15.7, when my 92 gs was stock it ran 15.3 with i/h/e ive beat ever gsr in my area. they all seem to think that vtec means more hp lol right now with i/h/e a good set of cams and a mild port job ive broken the 13 sec barrier find someone who you trust that can port a head for cheap and go all motor then go with the turbo and nos i saw a guy put a 50 shot on a gsr and first time at the track blew a piston either way good luck modding

Yeh a gsr does not run 15.2 stock. It goes 15.6 or 7. It can barely beat an Si. Someone told me that the 94 integra gsr ran 14.7 STOCK when Car and Driver tested it out? I can't find that article. Anybody knows?

do you know the accessories you get with the gsr and not the rs ? remember his car is not a gsr, its an rs, and the time i gave him is a gsr motor in a rs chassis. so again i say 15.2 stock.
motortrend cant race for shit anyways. yeah and did the old gsrs run as fast as the new gsrs

the best way to go would probebly be an ls/vetc swap. is all you would have to do is get a b series vetc head and put it on your b18b. Honda tuning did an article on it a while ago, if you want i can scan and e-mail you a copy. as far as the LSD you could go to your local acura dealer and get a Type R unit or just get one from an importer.

I was talkin about car and driver. There pretty good at testing cars. Anyways gsr can't run 15.2 stock even if its in the rs chassis. If he had bolt ons maybe but not stock.

Then the car is not stock it is swapped. The car has been modified. You can get a 15.0 with a stock GSR motor in a civic CX what is your point? We are talking about the models not just the engines. So you can't say that a Stock GSR ran a 15.3 when you should be saying a stock GSR Engine in an RS ran a 15.3. Because an RS with a GSR swap is not a GSR.
