Tire Pressure?
97 Regal GS,, Since gas prices have gone up I have been looking for ways to get better milage. Getting rid of my led foot is not an option. Air filter , plugs wires etc have been done. Guy at the local gas station said its ok to fill tires to 40 psi. On the tires it says max is 44 psi. buick says something like 30-32 psi. 40 psi will give better milage but bad traction, maybe uneven tire wear. Any input?

Re: Tire Pressure?
Bumping up tire pressure is not a good idea. It can cause excessive tire wear, harsh ride, less control, and a possible blowout. Tires heat up while driving, and pressure increases with heat. So a tire at 40psi cold can exceed 50+psi when hot. Get the lead out of your right shoe, and relax!!
