MK3 into MK4 engine swap?

Does anyone know if you can install a MK3 VR6 code AAA into a MK4 VR6 Jetta orginal code AFP? Is there any advantages to either engine? What parts might I need to perform the swap?

The engine is from a 97 GTI VR6 and the Jetta is a 2000 GLS VR6. Thanks.

Bottom end is identical, well the whole long block is nearly identical. Just different intake manifold, and some other little things. MK4 also uses thinner head gasket, which leads to its .3 higher compression ration.
All 12v VR6 are nearly identical, 24v is a different story though.
