94 still stalling-3.8L Vin L

I posted along time ago about the random stalls. Well the car sat for about six months and I finally got around to working on it again. Symptoms are that it starts right away, idles smooth and drives smooth. Then it randomly stalls while driving. It immediately starts right up and drives fine for another half mile or so, then dies again. No CES light on. I replaced the ECM(16183247) with one that i purchased off ebay, but had to replace the Prom module (BHDZ)with mine (BHDU)as that was for a Bonneville or something. I thought it fixed the problem as I drove it for 30 minutes with no stalls. A day later and it's back to random dying again! I read about the crankshaft sensor overheating, but why would it start back up right away while it was still hot? Has anyone including GM, figured this darn thing out, I'm exhausted reading posts about people changing parts to no avail with this same problem.

The windings in a CKPS are very small, so a very short cool down will normally suffice. You have the classic symptoms of a failed CKPS, so I believe replacig it to be your next plan of attack.

I guess I'll try replacing the CSPS provided it's not too expensive a part and not that much work to replace.
Thanks

Re: 94 still stalling-3.8L Vin L

I have some new information that may be helpful. It stalled on me twice yesterday just after I left ny driveway, which rules out any CSPS overheating problem. More importantly, I notice it dies only on deceleration. For example, if I drive down a street then take my foot off the gas, it stalls. Starts right up though with no problem.
