Hey,
With all the discussions floating around about the headlight kits and the fact that I'm obsessed with the Greddy9 RX7 (scarry), I just couldnt help not trying to scratch built the RE Amemiya sleek kits. The Greddy9 just doesn't look right without them. You might notice lots of blue stuff around the headlights. That's blue-tac used to hold all the parts together. This is going to be a long process as I have to built the panels (for lack of better term) that hold the light kits and somehow attach them to the front bumper.

Some more progress pics... :flash: :flash:
The masking tape is to protect the windows from fingerprints / scratches. Now I know why Fujimi did not include the correct light kit for this model as it requires cutting part of the wheel wells to allow room for installation. Meaning, if Aoshima / Fujimi ever decides to do the F&F RX7, I doubt it will have the right headlights.

word of warning: don't leave that masking tape on there for too long, or the adhesive will stay on the car when you pull it up. this happened to the hood of my C-West RX-7, and there's so much adhesive on there, it's looking like i might just have to strip the whole model and repaint.

nope i didn't try that, thanks for the advice! the masking tape i left on mine was some crappy old stuff that i probably shouldn't have been using in the first place (but it's all i had!!) and it was left on there for a month because when my room got packed up to be re-painted, the car got shoved in a box (with the rest of my modelling stuff) and i couldn't find that box for a few weeks after the room was done. as soon as i found it, i pulled the tape off and now my black hood that was supposed to look like carbon fibre looks like somebody poured glue all over it. *sigh* i might just strip the model anyways, because this was my first attempt at painting with an airbrush and i must admit...i didn't do a very good job...it's rather lumpy and there's tons of orange peel...anyone have any tips to get rid of this? sanding? polish? any help would be greatly appreciated. i have pics of the hood (as well as the progress on the other 2 models in my sig) loaded onto my comp, i just have to downsize them and then i'll post them up.
PS I HATE THIS GODDAMN SERVER!!!!
