Changing Engine Problem
The engine in my 1996 Oldsmobile Achieva was just replaced and the repairman is having trouble with an aspect of the install that no one foresaw.
He has the newer engine in and he can start the car but it does not stay running. The temperature gauge reads -22 degrees (don't ask me how they know that) and because of it the onboard computer wants to dump too much fuel into the system and thereby choke the engine off and shuts down. The technician tried replacing the temperature sending unit, twice, and they still haven't figured it out.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this would happen?
