Angry Burning Oil

I have a 98 honda prelude that recently started burning oil. I have 95k on my lude. Everytime I get on it you can smell the oil burning. Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

Re: Burning Oil

get a compression test done. you may have a bad piston ring somewhere.

Re: Burning Oil

make sure you aren't just leaking on your exhaust piping as well.

some people double up their filter gaskets because they didn't check to see if it came off with the old filter. bad news.

Re: Re: Burning Oil

i hate to ask this question but...how much are new rings? can i do this myself with a fairly adequate knowledge of engines? how much do shops normally charge for this? i know its not cheap. my problem is getting worse.
