Sway bar bushing torque?

1995 Accord LX. 155,000 miles

I climb under the car to investigate violent shaking when braking.

Sure enough half of the rubber bushings was gone. I replaced them with the repair kit from Pep Boys. The kit is very cheap: it is made out only of rubber with no metal reinforcement inside.

Any way it is already installed and now it squeaks badly. I will probably live with it.

One question: how much torque should I set it to?

I hope that
the source of squeaking may be the incorrect torque I used.

P.S. Unfortunately sway bar bushings did not help much with shaking. Next step will be new rotors.

Sam

rotors are warped dude new rotors and brakes neoprene bushings are better and the torque should be where the bushing looks like its starting to smash thats hard enough

Thanks, wiseguy!

I took a look at the bushing this evening with a flash light and it looks like it got a little crack in it. So next week end I will try to exchange it.
