Fading Reverse in Transmission
Hello,
I have a 1995 Pathfinder and was wondering if anyone has/had similar problems. Just recently when putting my vehical in reverse it delayed or seemed to slip no moving the SUV backward. The vehical was hot/warm from use. The fluid level seems to be O.K. Any comments or suggestions, please send me a note. I would really like to know what others have come across with this problem. Regards, Pete [email protected] |

Delayed Reverse - Tranny Problems
Pete,
I have a '91 Pathfinder and I have had similar problems with going into reverse. I have also had problems shifting from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. It's kind of like the vehicle momentarily pauses and searches for the correct gear. I was just wondering how you made out. I am about to get the tranny and tranny cooler completely flushed and I am adding an auxiliary tranny cooler and filter in an attempt to save the transmission. I hear that a rebuilt tranny or a remanufactured one is extremely expensive! I'm curious as to what you found or what you did to remedy your situation... |

Re: Delayed Reverse - Tranny Problems
I totally lost reverse and had to had the tranny rebuild. Outragious price to rebuild by a good tranny shop $2500. My suggestion do a search on the internet and find a warrentied rebuild unit. I think I found one for $1400 but you have to put it in yourself. I would do this next time. I sounds like your tranny is worn out so you maybe in for the same thing. I hope the fluid change works for you but I would also start doing some research on rebuilt trannys on the internet.
See ya, Pete [email protected] Quote:
