Timing Belt Question - Hyundai Sonata 2004

I've seen some good advice shared on this forum, so I am open to some suggestions/recommendations on how I manage the timing belt replacement for my Sonata. I am under Warranty until 60K miles, so I will make the decision at that point... A few question I have include:

1. Is there a way to detect if the timing belt has missing teeth? If so, would the dealer be responsible for that repair?
2. Do you recommend using a dealer for this repair or can a respectable garage handle the job?
3. As my warranty is close to running out, are their other items I should check into or where can I find out what typically goes wrong on a Sonata?
4. Other than this site, what other sites provide good information on these cars?
