Questions on MSD Ignitions......
Okay, so i am debating on getting a MSD Ignition for my car.... I know i need a Modified Cap, and a Blaster Coil..... But, then i see these boxes like the SCI or the other Red one...... What do they do? and do i need it? how much do all these parts cost? like how much does the cap, coil, sci or other box and all cost? and is it worth it?

I have the MSD SCI-L ignition. I got it mainly because it has a revlimiter (which my Mugen chip did away with). I didn't wanna blow another B16 cuz of my shitty trans...and not having the protection of a revlimiter. I do believe that turbocharged cars see the most benefit out of an MSD ignition. It produces a stronger spark (multiple sparks at low rpms), which I thought also would go along nicely w/ my denso iridium plugs. I believe that the cost was like $220 from www.jcwhitney.com . You do not need a modified dizzy cap & blaster coil. They are optional (and nice to have). I'm not using either of those. I just have the ignition box, and it works fine and serves my purposes quite well

i have the whole set up... blaster 2 and modded cap... i wouldn't really suggest getting it unless you really need it.. it doesn't do all too much for you... i does make starting easier and slightly better gas milage... and smoother revving though... and looks neato... with it all its close to 300 for it...

I have an extra MSD modified dizzy cap for sale for $20 + shipping if you're interested. It's never been used.
I bought it for use on my D16A6, but I've decided not to hook up my MSD ignition until I have my D16Y8 dropped in, so I'll have to buy another cap...
