Fixing headlights - Opinions wanted
As all of you know the 2gb headlights are very sexy. Well mine have lots of rock/sand chips and just resently started turning yellow. I know you can sand then down and polish them to look just like new but I think this may work better. So what if I pull them out and sand them down a little, just to get the outer plastic off so they aren't yellow, then put about 2-3 coats of clear over the lense. The clear will fill in all the chips and scratches so they would be smooth and it would protect the lense from turning yellow again. Yes they will still chip some but should be to bad, front bumpers have clear on them. Let me know what you guys think, I really think Im going to try this in the next month or so.

Re: Fixing headlights - Opinions wanted
I have NEVER heard anyone ever painting headlights. I would reccomend that you have a spare set ready after you try this. I doubt it will be good. i sanded and buffed my talon head lights. Just like new.

Re: Fixing headlights - Opinions wanted
haha I haven't ever heard of anyone doing this either, but there is no reason it wont work. I have painted several light with clear and black to tint them and they all turned out good so I dont know why it wont work.

Re: Fixing headlights - Opinions wanted
It's worth a shot. The worst thing that could happen is you have fucked up headlights for awhile until you find a replacement set, but I don't think it could possibly be that bad. Mine are just now starting to fade a bit also but I'm waiting until next summer to sand them down a bit and applying some plastic polisher...hopefully when my car gets painted

Re: Fixing headlights - Opinions wanted
I really dont think anything bad could happen. I can always sand the clear off and polish the plastic if I dont like it. Ill take some pics when I do it so yall can see the results.
