newbie needs help
1996 elantra wouldn't start, timming belt is fine, fuel pump wasn't working, i changed the pump and the relay, it started, than ran about two miles and died again and now won't start, acting like it did before i changed all that. anyone with any ideas, at at a loss. thanks again to all of you for taking the time to help us car dumb ones out here.---hat!

I would check the fuel pump, there is a test jumper under the hood (can't remember where it is). I know you just changed it but you probably have some shortcuts in your main harness. That would explain how the car worked but died again.
Go there : http://hmaservice.com/ and register, when you're logged in clic "Service Information" on the top left of the page. From there you'll be able to select you car model and year and do a search (fuel pump obviously). In the result you should have instructions on how to test the fuel pump without openning the fuel tank. Good luck! |

well assuming you messed with the battery terminals maybe they are corroded. try the simplest things that involve starting mainly the battery and the battery cables/terminals determine thats not it then start else where
