ABS and Brake warning light.

ABS and Brake warning light is on. It will reset after I turn off engine.. It only comes on after hard acceleration or if my transmission start to shudder. Would this be the VSS causing this ?? I did however checked to see if the ABS was working after the lights went off after restarting the van, they did. But they did not work after the lights came on, it skidded. The brake fluid level is fine and I rechecked every time the lights came on. I just notice the trend of every time I went to pass someone or the trans did the shutter the ABS and brake warning light came on and stayed on until I shut down the van. Seems like I heard of the VSS some where could cause this but have been unable to find the post.. Any help would be great!! Thanks,Gary
Oh the reason of the shudder is trans pump starting to go...per trans guy!!

Re: ABS and Brake warning light.

Hmm. Can you get someone like a parts store for free see if there is a code stored while the abs light is on? Sounds electronic. Without more research on my part, you may have a loose eletrical connection related to the vss or the abs unit. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have a scan tool but they only ones that pull ABS are pricey.. I am thinking its related to my trans problem. Just did not know if someone else had this issue.. The ABS & Brake warning lights both came on..
