Need advice
The black paint on the door armrests where the window/seat controls are is chipped and looking ugly. I wanted to remove the panel where the switches are and go over it with woodgrain design contact paper to match the woodgrain interior.
Does anyone know how to remove these switch panels and would i have to remove the whole unit, door panel etc?? Just wondering how easy or difficult of a job it would be.

Re: Need advice
There is a clip in the center of the front edge that holds the switch panel in the arm rest. Carefully jam a small screwdriver in the center of front edge and pry it up. All the connectors plug into the panel, so you would have to work a bit to get them all unconnected.

Re: Need advice
Also, the clip fastener faces the front of the car, on the side near your power mirror switch. The switches can all be removed from the switch plate with the same screw driver you use to remove it from the door panel (all held with plastic tabs) BTW, let us know how that woodgrain finish comes out, my switch plates are looking pretty bad, too!

Quote:
This weekend i repainted my center wheel caps as the paint was flaking off and the cream color platic exposed gave the car a real junkyard look if ya know what i mean . So i sanded the wheel center caps down with some 400 grain sandpaper and gave them 3 light coats of auto paint. Looks really good! Thanks for everyones help

Re: Need advice
I think that this would be a good match up with the woodgrain interior trim:
