2004 Grand Prix Tranny Question

hi i been told in the past the grand prix had a problem with there trannys of slipping and stuff, id like to know if the 2004 had that one fixed or if its bad year

reason i ask is i can buy a 04 with 100k on the car, its been in accident i guess door is banged in was told needs about 3500 in work to get it on road and is selling for 4,000 id like to know if its worth it, and if the tranny is a better tranny from years ago if its a worth while buy?

the trannys are not known for slipping, but they do break fairly easy if you have modded it to make over 300 whp. In my opinion, I would not buy it if the tranny is slipping.
a good reputation tranny shop will charge over $2,000 to rebuild it if you really want to buy it.
$4000 to buy it + $3500 to get it road ready + $2000 for tranny = $9500
that's a lot of monet for a 3 year old, very high mileage GP.
Look around, you should be able to find one of that age with fewer miles for about the same money.

ah ok thanks do you know of a vehicle that doesnt have bad transmission thas reliable?
