Speed limiter in T/A 98

Hi guys. I heard that my car could have a RPM or speed limiter. Is this true? What speed is the cut off? Is there a way to turn it off? I know is higher that 110 MPH because it didn't stop accelerating ... I did before I get a speeding ticket LOL. Not that I want to be flying with my car but just wanted to know how much it will go in case i need some speed. Thanks.

It depends what kind of tires it had when it was built. If you had z rated tires it is limited to 160mph. If it had a lower speed rating than z then you're limited below 160.

the only way to get the limiter turned off is to flash the chip..

however, im pretty sure a little after 160 you wont be able to accelerate anymore, if you can even reach 160.. the air friction is too great for the car to accelerate through
