|
Glove box cannot be opened.
I have a 2000 windstar minivan. Recently I cannot open the glove box either with hand or the key. It seems that something was broken. Could anyone tell me how I can open it? Thanks a lot for your help!

I have a 96 so Im not sure if its the same. The latch is in the center of the glove compartment. Take a flat blade screwdriver and slide it in the crack between the door and the part it closes up against. Wiggle the scredriver up and down it only has to slide in about an inch or so. I tried it on mine and it worked. From there look at the mechanism its probably broke. You might even use a plastic knife so as not to scratch anything. It opened easy though.

96wWindstar180K, Sorry for the late reply. I was out last week.
I tried to open the box but didn't succeed. I guess I am too stupid. If possible, could you please take several pictures of how you did to open the box? I really appreciate if you can help. Thanks!

Don't worry. I managed to open the glove box this sunday. For pictures, I guess we have to put them on some website and then cite here. Thanks a lot!
