2004 Passenger side sliding door

My 2004 Nissan Quest passenger side sliding door opens fine, but only closes about 3/4 of the way and then alarms, stops and reopens. Any suggestions to fix?

Re: 2004 Passenger side sliding door

first thing to do is check the rails and track for any type of blockage. If nothing, you cna try silicon grease. If this does not work, take to the dealer since your van is covered by a 5 yr/60k mile bumper to bumper warranty (all 2004 Quest are covered).

Re: 2004 Passenger side sliding door

Thanks for the reply. I have had my Quest to the dealership twice now and still have the same problem! They charged me $57.00 to reprogram the door because they said it lost its memory. The second time I did not get charged and they reprogrammed and greased the rails. I don't know what to do next. It is very inconvienent to manually push the door shut.

Re: 2004 Passenger side sliding door

I just had my Quest into the dealership for the third time to fix the passenger door. This time they said they talked to the engineers at Nissan and they told them to replace the center roller as it has been binding at times and they also are going to replace the motor! As I was told previously Nissan extended its warranty on the 04 Quest to 5yr/60k mile bumper to bumper, after encouraging my dealership to investigate this claim, they finally agreed that there was such an extension, Thanks dtownfb!
