WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

Yep another Ferrari and yes yet another progress thread among a sea of others sitting stale and wasting bandwidth, but this one will be finished before I go back to school so no worries. The sileighty will be pushed back yet again

The kit is a Revell that I bought to practice before making the Tamiya, but I decided to do some custom stuff to it. This kit is actually very nice. One of the nicest Revell kits I've seen. This is influenced by the twin turbo Ford GT video floating around the internet.

started out with the headers...the turbo is going to peak out top. I did this so the turbo isn't buried and almost invisible. That there in the background is another one I'm finishing this summer...take a guess

turbos from leftover sprues and putty. Still a bit rough. The exhaust housings are chilling on my desk.

intercoolers and intake plenum. still wip

shaved off the other half of the stock air filter box that was molded on the frame

some test fitting...the headers need some more bending

this is a nice kit

some mock up of the intercooler and oil cooler

Looking awesome for a 16$ kit. Well done, and well done Revell.

Good to see someone "messing with the Ferrari perfection." The intercoolers look as though they were made to be in that location. Are you doing exterior mods as well?

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

Good idea to stop the "monotony" of the enzo!

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

bit more progress on the turbos

I'm going with the TE-37's on white scheme. More of a Japanese theme I'd say

here's with the enzo rear tire...still undecided if I like this

Found a ridiculously easy way to attach the wheels and here I thought I was stuck with the kit wheels due to the complexity of the attachment.

Modding the front bumper. I think one of the reasons why the enzo is so "ugly" is because the nose is too long.

Cut even more. Now this reminds me a lot of the Zonda as well as the FXX, but the FXX nose is still too long

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

Cool body mods and the turbo looks promising. That does look like it was meant to have a turbo.

I personally like the larger diameter rear wheel. An Enzo with same size front/rear would look silly IMO. Keep up the good work. I really like the idea of the white Enzo, but then again, I'm partial to it!

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

some updates!

all that's left (in terms of piping) is the exhaust piping out of the turbos, some more gluing and puttying and finally some painting.

hood closes like nothing happened

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

Looks really good.

Did you have to add styrene strips to the hood to make if fit nicely? Mine had such a horrible gap that the only option was to glue it shut, putty and rescribe the panel lines. You're lucky to have if fit that nice if it is stock!

Re: WIP: Twin Turbo Enzo

You should have put the turbos other way around. Now you have to make 180 degree turn with the exhaust pipes.
