96 windstar 3.8 stumbling / stalling - hesitate
I own a 96 ford windstar with a 3.8 engine and it wants to stuble or stall or hessitatate when you snap the throttle. I have replace the idle air control, throttlebody sensor, maf sensor, cam sensor, plugs wires etc. I was reading someones elses blog about having the same problem and it was that the cam syncro and shaft assembly was not aliged and he rotated it back 180 degrees and it worked. I have tried unplugging the cam sensor and the stumbling and hesitation is gone - but can anyone explain to me how to align the cam syncro shaft as I do tinker with cars but I am far from being a machanic.

Re: 96 windstar 3.8 stumbling / stalling - hesitate
You're supposed to use a special allignment tool for that, I had mine replaced by a mechanic, it wasn't that expensive.
But here's the picture for models 95-98 http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm ![]() http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm |
