Whats the best exhaust diameter for Intrigues

Stock on my car its 2.25inch, i've seen people who put 3inch on grandprix gtps and regal gs modded to, but they are S/C. Intrigue's make 195/215hp and 225/230tq on N/A 3.8's & 3.5's so is the size limited to the cars power output. Also they're are catback dual exhaust systems but they aren't true duals so thats probably just for looks and style I wouldn't believe there's more power with duals if im right.

Re: Whats the best exhaust diameter for Intrigues

I dont think you would gain anything from increasing the diameter of the pipe unless you had done some serious modding to increase flow, such as heads, a cam, rockers, etc. Those mods arent really an option on the 3.5, but can be done to the 3.8.

I say leave the 2.25 alone, and get a high flow cat if you choose. A downpipe might even be too much.

Think of it this way, the L67s dont need 3 inch exhaust until they start pushing down into the lower 13s if memory serves. Which is a second or more faster than stock.

I believe that you will lose low end torque if you open the exhaust up too much, you might gain some high end, but its really a trade off.
