'85 Riv with wiring issues...among other things

Hey there. Been perusing the Riv forum, but can't find quite what I need. I have an '85 Riv, that has some pretty vexing wiring issues. The biggest issue I'm working on now is the taillights. According to the Haynes manual (I know, amatuer hour) the taillights are wired thru the dome/courtesy light fuse. Supposed to be a 20 amp fuse, but some genius replaced it with a 25 amp. Found a couple burnt wires, repaired them, still no taillights. My next move is to try and bypass the dome light and see if that helps. I know that some very "creative" wiring repairs have been done here, and I'm not sure how accurate the wiring diagrams I have are at this point, but if anyone out there has any suggestions at all, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, help a girl out.
