Hey folks I'm a newbie here and would like some advice from other classic car buffs.
I have a 67 Impala Convertable in great shape but is not numbers matching. I'm in the process of deciding what to do restoration wise. Do I restore to original condition or do I make it an SS Clone with a 396 or 427. I am leaning towards the Clone. What are your thoughts and what is the availability of SS parts? Also any Advice would be welcome |

Re: 67 Impala Conv Advice
Moving this to the Classics sub forum as the "regular" Impala forum tends to cover more recent models.

Re: 67 Impala Conv Advice
A 396 would be period correct for a '67, but maybe not for a convertible (I'd have to research more). Some SS badging and trim pieces are available in the aftermarket. The floor console and gauges would probably be the hardest parts to locate.

Re: 67 Impala Conv Advice
I did a '67 fastback into a clone back in 1975. I used a wrecked SS for all the parts that I needed, which had a complete interior in good shape. The ragtop SS may have had some differences, so do your research on what model came with what options.
Aftermarket parts will be pricey and you'll have to find everything for it to be accurate. I'm sure that you can get anything that you need. Bob |

Re: 67 Impala Conv Advice
When looking for parts look into classic industries they probably have most everything you would need to make it into a clone and they have rebuilt engines at dirt cheap prices
