Can't open my hood

It has been a few month's I think I need to check the fluids.The hood has always been kind of a pain to open.HELP

have one person push down on the hood, while the 2nd person pulls the release.

You can take off the little plastic piece you pull on to open the hood under the dash and use a pair of pliers. The cable that actuates the hood release outside streches over time so it needs to be pulled farther. I THINK they can be adjusted but that depends on what model it is.
