91 will not go in rev. or park

i have a 1991 jimmy 4.3 that will not go in to park or reverse. has anyone had this problem. can this be fixed or does the trasmission need to be replaced.

Go over the shift linkage.
Check the linkage to transmission and the shift lever arm n transmission.
If that fails drop the pan and look inside at inside linkage.
MT
