Please Help!

Hey guys, I made the mistake of buying a 1993 Mirage before I researched on it, anyway, I thought it would be a great buy because it only had 100,361miles on it, so I was going to have a mileage car, the only problem is that the tranny will not shift into gear.

The car has fluid in it, it doesn't smell burnt, the engine works fine, the linkage is shifting, but it's like the transmission is not responding, the tranny is not engaging in any gear, it's like it is stuck in neutral or park.

Is there a simple fix to this, or am I royal screwed on this buy?

What can I do? I can't get my money back, the engine, A/C and everything else is in good condition, just the tranny will not engage into drive or reverse or even low.................

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.......... Thank you.

Do you mean the shifter inside the car is operating or the control on the trans is moving? It's possible the shift cable has come loose or has broken.
