no brake lights

i have a 1995 skylark and 2 of my three brake lights dont work. the center light in the window works but the 2 lower ones dont. i have done the obvious stuff like bulbs and fuses. i need help to fix this so i dont have to pay the fixit ticket i got. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AF.

A common problem causing loss of the brake lights less the third center brake light is a bad multifunction and/or hazard warning switch. Also, check both brake lamp sockets and make sure there is no short.

You might check the wiring as well. I came across a brake light wire that was corroded recently. Cleaning that tan junk out of the sockets would help too.
