GTO blues.

Man you guys ever had the blues like really bad. I love driving and I love messing around and picking fights but lately Ive been so board.
I get like 2 races a day, I get some good ones but I just dont feel it anymore. I havent posted a race in forever cause I just dont even think about them any more.
I think Im tired of the whole racing thing!

Lately Ive been racing just to shut people up or to piss them off but i dont enjoy it. I find it anoying. Today I turned down 4 races which I never done before and it didnit phase me at all. Some retard in a new Camary pulls up and revs, I look over and just pull up my window. Homeboy took off and gave me the blinkers a mile down and I just wondered "how long before he gets killed". Normally I would of blown his doors off and gotten out of the car to laugh and point at his pathetic little old lady car.

Just the other night a guy in a bone stock 05 Accord pulls up next to me, baits and takes off and then asks if Im surprised he beat me. I could of smoked him if I had taken off in 6th gear but I just didnt even peddle it. All I could say was " hey man, be safe."

I think I lost my soul. Ive never felt so board and so lost.
I think I need to see an automotive shrink.

.....Matty....help....

Re: GTO blues.

What... I'm the automotive shrink?

Alright, the Doctor is in.

Mushman... you're a Father now. You've got something at home that sits in the back of your mind reminding you that somebody depends on you. Your statement about "how long till he gets killed?" reflects that.

You've grown up over the last few months with the realisation that you will be a Father to somebody. Nothing wrong with that, we all grow up at some point.

Except Midgets... they never grow up... and they smell like cabbage!

Oh.. anyways, I too grew tired of the racing. In my 240z, if you recall back in my glory days that I was racing a heck of a lot. People couldn't leave me well enough alone. Then, when I got my Z28 things died off a bit but I still raced on a regular basis. When I sold it all, and I bought my latest Z. I bought nearly $9,000 worth of stuff for it.

The Z has the potential to be a 600hp car if I just put the stuff I bought it in the car. But deep down, I'm just tired of it. I kind of enjoy cruising around in my slow truck.

Although... I've been secretly saving money for a new toy in the future. But I don't think it'll be a 'racer'. Just a toy for me on the weekends on the back roads and trips. Plus, what I have in mind, not much will be able to keep with it anyways... so there isn't a point to race it anyways. Winning all the time does get old.

No worries Mushman... you're still young. And you're a true car guy. The racer will never go away. For me it comes in phases where all I want to do is drive fast, and nobody on the street or freeway can go fast enough for my liking... they're all too slow. And some days, I'll sit in the slower lanes on cruise control and go "man... those guys are idiots" to all the people blazing ahead.

My diagnosis is that you've just grown up... and you've probably raced one too many slow vehicles so the GTO and it's driver grow bored. Don't dispare my friend. It'll all come back to you.

Especially after the newness of the baby wears off... you know like when they're young you're really carefull to not hurt him, or hold him the wrong way. Give it a few months and you'll realise the little shit is a lot more resilient than you think.. and you're not affraid to drop him or you're fine with him playing with electrical sockets.

Cheers mate.

Re: GTO blues.

I feel the same way. I bought the nsx and I haven't raced anyone with it yet. Not even my friends. But I just enjoy driving the NSX spiritedly. I rev the hell out of the car just to hear the engine, and it corners so well with such great steering feedback. But its really hard to push a car that can do 90mph in 2nd and 125mph in 3rd with my new wheels. I have not even redlined 3rd gear in this car yet.

Just enjoy the car, punch it when its safe.

dont worry man you just have to start racing some porsches, lambos, and the like and youll feel brand new!
okay maybe not but yeah your a dad now just think about how much fun it will be teaching your kid to adjust valve clearances, change spark plugs, adjust timimg, rebuild a carb, etc. what you need is a project car like a 69 cuda or a classic goat
and speaking of the kid hows he doing and hows the wife?

Re: GTO blues.

I havent hung out cause you fuckers never invite me anywhere. True I work but Im always out by 11.
Every time I talk to Jorge: So what did you do last night jorge?
-Oh nothing just went to dinner with Kris and Aria and Junya.
-cool, man, had fun?
-yeah we hung out till like 1:00 a.m.
-oh, I got home at 11:15 and scratched my balls till 3:00!

Partly it is that Im board of racing but my car is not a 600hp monster, I get pleanty of even matches and I just dont care anymore. I even drive by the racing hangouts every night on my way home and the kids all holler "hey GTO, c'mere man".
I just grab a frosty and some nuggets and go home.

My wife and son are doing great. hes a tough little devil, I was scared of breaking him but yeah, they are tough.

I guess I'll have to wait a few yeasr till he grows up and starts driving so me and him can go out ricer hunting......like when hes 6 and shit.

You havent even stopped by to see my new office yet, so as maria says, you cholo!

Re: GTO blues.

i think the whole being a father thing has definetly biased your feelings toward racing at the moment. your attention is needed elsewhere. to renew your passion, you must remember why you fell in love with racing in the first place and that will require some soul searching, good luck

Dude auto X is the most boring thing you can do in a car i.m.o.
I mean I do it cause its better then sitting in traffic but cone dodging is really slow and boring. I wish we had some open day road courses round here.
