Door panels and door locks
I have a '95 Riviera and I was hoping someone could give me some info on removing the interior door panels. A while back my driver's side door lock quit functioning electrically. I could hear the solenoid moving and also see the lock handle trying to move, but that was as far as it would go. I tried removing the door panel by backing out all the screws I could find, but could never get the panel off. I ended up manually cycling the door lock several times and reinstalling all of the screws in the panel. I have never had trouble with the driver's side door lock since. Now the same thing is happening on the passenger side. The solenoid (actuator) is moving, but the lock handle itself just barely moves. I have manually cycled it many times, but it still will not work electrically.
I want to take a look at the linkage, etc., but need some help seeing how the door panels come off. While I am here I will add that I have what sounds like a loose screw somewhere under the center console near the automatic transmission shifter handle. I hear the screw roll around when turning and braking. I would like to remove the console to get the loose screw or whatever it is so if you can tell me how that comes off that too would be appreciated. |

Looks like I found it
After submitting that post I found a thread on Camlifter's site that appears to have the answer (http://www.regalgs.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12750). Thanks for the link Camlifter.

Still looking for info on how to remove the center console though
Still looking for info on how to remove the center console though. I removed all the screws I can find, but it still does not want to come out.

I stopped at the ash try because I didn't need to go further - but it is simpler than it looks. Good luck. |
