AC compressor not grounded 1978 Eldorado Biarritz - 7/14/2007 2:21:45 PM
The compressor has the ground wire running to back of it. But the cluch will only engage if I ground it directly to the battery. Do I need a new compressor or can I ground it somewere else on the car?

You might want to verify that the main engine ground is in place.

It should be a heavy cable or strap running from the engine block to someplace on the body, usually the frame.
