Exclamation ZC into newer 92+ ???

Ok I just came upon a weird revelation...

So I was just thinking about swaps and I was talking about how the ZC, even though it doesnt have VTEC is still a pretty bad ass motor ~ and if I didnt have to covert my 93 CX to cable I would have one. But then I thought, wait a second... the ZC is a D series motor... so wouldnt my D series hydro tranny bolt upto the ZC motor? I mean since im not using the tranny does it matter that its hydro tranny???

Im sure someone with half a brain can confirm this for me

Re: ZC into newer 92+ ???

I don't do 4th gens but I don't think D-series 4th gens have everything in common with d-series 5th gens. And would do me a favor and STOP LOOKING FOR SECOND RATE SWAPS. Patience has its virtues

Well 5th gen D-series aren't totally compatible with 6th gen d-series so the cable to hydro jump should've changed ALOT of things.

And yes second rate. Blown D16Z6's, D16 Head swaps, now ZC's. Dude..2.2 liters of fury don't compare to that

And dude, it dont matter cause its not gonna happen either way. I was asking for informational purposes... since they are both D series, I couldnt see why a D series motor wouldnt bolt upto the D series tranny?

Because even same series engines had changes from generation to generation. A header from a D16Y8 isn't exactly going to fit my D15B7.

There was actually a real EG hatchback somewhere not in this country that came w/ ZC (renamed a D-series code_ stock.

BUt..uh..nick

IT'S CALLED EMBEZZLEMENT muahahhaahahaha

Save...wait..be patient

Plus..the ZC is basically the same as a D16Z6.

Both have around 130hp.
both 1.6L and have about same torque numbers.
one has 2 cams and one has VTEC.

It balances out.

later

First of all, this swap would be illegal since ZC engines were only made in 91 and before... for a swap to be legal the engine has to be the same year as the car or newer.

Secondly, yes the ZC is a d-series engine and will bolt directly up to your d-series tranny perfectly... all you will have to do is put the flywheel from your current engine on the ZC...

For more info then you could possibly ask for about either ZC engines or anything else, just talk to the guys on the 4th gen board (that's where I came from)... we 4th gen'ers are friendly and helpful.

Ok, so I'm not currently a 4th gen'er but it's my roots (see my screen name?).
