Mugen air intake system for the type-s

Does anyone have the mugen air intake system for the type-s? if so, was it easy to install and were the power increases significant enough to choose the Mugen over any other air intake system? also, where did you get it from and how much did you pay?

Re: Mugen air intake system for the type-s

As far as power is concerned, it's not so much that the Mugen system delivers more than other products- it's a question of where. So whereas a Comptech (or whichever) CAI would give you better low-end gains, and an AEM SRI would give better top-end, the Mugen system claims better mid-range power which would be great for a daily driver. If you know what you're doing it's an easy install, like any aftermarket intake. Whether the performance gains justify the price is another issue.

the ony place I found i could order one at was www.kingmotorsports.com and it was 715 or so, which is a lot more than most other intakes, in some cases twice the price. so if i were to get it, i would want to try to find someone who has had it and see if it was worth the extra money.

You're paying for the name - for the "bling factor" of having real Mugen parts. When a valve cover costs $800 just because it had a name on it, it's gets a bit ridiculous. Same with the intakes.

might Mugen parts be cheaper in japan? My stepdad is going to be there for work, and he goes there often for work. plus he lived there for some years, so he can get to automotive stores, etc. on his weekends
