WIP: volvo FH-16 (euro truck)

It's the Italeri 1:24 kit No 3821.
I'm very much a newbie when it comes to modeling. This thread wil hopefully keep me from rushing to finish it and make me try harder, that's about it.

I can only work on the model on weekends, I use kitchen table. Hopefully I will be able to move to something bigger this year and get a permanent place to model and also get a airbrush.

frame and engine pretty much finished. Made some wireing and custom made the springs by the airfilter.

Re: WIP: volvo FH-16 (euro truck)

It makes a nice change to see a truck here. Looks like you've made a good start. Take your time and don't be afraid to ask about anything that's not already covered in the FAQ's and How-To section. Looking forward to seeing it finished....

Nice job! I have built this kit too. It's a pretty good kit but there are some errors . The seats are from the FH16/12 735, frame from F16/12. But it's a very good kit. Keep it up!

thanks for your comments. I'm not really trying to make a 100% accurate model. But I will modify the seats thanks. Since I'm a begginer I have a goal with my models, the goal with this one is to make as good of a model as I can and make some custom details that blend in with the rest of the kit.

The paint is inspired by a truck I saw in a magazine, but I will try and create my own decals.

Tried some weathering and added a custom red switch for the battery (not visible from this side)

Looking very good!
But.. could I be wrong if I say you put the rings of the
outer back wheels on the inside? They should be on the outside.
The axle is sticking out quite a bit now.

Good luck on the cab, hope you could fix it!

been busy, streesed. No place to keep and work on it, moving, changed job twice kids etc... but I'm back at it more motivated then ever. Got some custom parts that will come on later.

Just a pic to show I'm working on it.

Life sure doesn't allow for much free time does it. I had not seen this before but will really be tuned. I have never built a truck, but these kits are looking better to me all of the time.

thanks I'm very much a beginner but I'm getting ideas and learning new things as I go along.

In 5 weeks there is a real truck show not far from where I live and it will also host a small modeltruck competition. If I finish it in time and nothing else come up I plan on going.

Did a simple interior. Was pretty difficult non the less.

remade the rear my own way. Not 100% done needs some adjustment, but overall I'm happy. Picture came out abit dark. Waiting for some paint so I can continue the cabin. Have to make some new windows also Did a rust effect on the chain using mig paint very easy to work with.
