90 Grand Marquis HVAC Issues
About 3 years ago my AC developed a leak in the line to the compressor but when filled, it would work til the coolant leaked out. This year we replaced the line, filled with coolant, and when we went to start up the air conditioning the heat is the only thing that would come out. So after a Diagnostic check at a shop they said it was the Blend door actuator. So they naturally order me the electric one three times when i have only vacuum ones in the car. So even though the actuator is bad, no matter if the door is fully open or closed the heat is the only thing coming out. The compressor and it's respectives lines get cold as well as the evaporator case but nothing i do can get cold air to go the inside of the car.

Re: 90 Grand Marquis HVAC Issues
Me and my father spent about an hour more on it and came up with the conlusion that the heat valves are stuck open. If you cold start the engine and turn the AC on it is cold for a few seconds and then the air temp coming out varies between 75-100 degrees F. You can feel the cold air but it seems heat is alos on. Tapping on the valves does not reset them so i guess we are going to have to replace them.
