I was thumbing through one of my recent PHR mags, and I saw this stunning 56 corvette. (i've attached a pic) and I then remembered the corvette value pack hiding under my bed from many birthdays ago. It contained a 57 which I figured would be a prime candidate for this build. Also in this kit were 4 other vettes, one of which was powered by an LT1. the 1:1 car is powered by an LS1. I would rather do the LS1 but funds are kind of tight right now to go out and kitbash the Revell SS kit. Here are some pics of where i am at. I've spent about 10 hours working on the body, molding in the headlights, and rear valance, I've had to hunt down another kit for the front valance and the hood. on to the pics. (oh, if anyone else has seen this car on any sites on the net, please post up a link, im looking for more pictures. I emailed PHR but have yet to receive a reply.)
![]() again, i apologize for the blurry pics, they were taken inside, as it is rainy and nasty outside. the blue in the headlight in that last pic is from the liquid mask. thanks for looking, comments, suggestions and criticisms are welcome as always

Re: WIP: 1957 vette street rod
Are you using the attached pic as inspiration, or are you going to build it as close to the original car as possible? Anyway it looks good so far!

Re: WIP: 1957 vette street rod
well. as of right now that is the only pic that i have, so its merely inspiration. and the 1:1 uses the LS1 where as i have the LT1 . i want the exterior to look as close as possible. i'll have to pick up some pegasus T's for this one. The small write up in the mag on this one said it had over 100 body mods, but i have no clue what all they were. As for the front valance, it shouldn't be too hard. as long as it fits ok. I had to pick up a AMT 57 corvette gasser kit because im missing the hood and the lower front valce peice. that should be here sometime next week.

Re: WIP: 1957 vette street rod
well the donor kit arrived today. the front valance was workable but the hood was too small so the donor has become the primary. so now i get to do all the body work all over again?

Re: WIP: 1957 vette street rod
well.......umm.....WOW.... i had no idea. thanks a ton for the pictures. it helps knowing who built the car lol. i'm thinking that is a lot more work than i want to put into this one. seeing as how im already upset that the 5 plus hours i've put into massaging the old body have been wasted. i'm merely gonna use that for inspiration. as far as stance, and the wheel combo......WOW.....still speechless. that car is immaculate. again thanks so much for the pictures.
