242GT 1980, How Long Can it Last??

I am looking at a 1980 242GT wit 245k on original engine and trans.
It was well maintained and still looks good.
My question is, what kind of life expectancy can one expect with this engine and trans???

Thanks

Al

Re: 242GT 1980, How Long Can it Last??

These engines are known for just go and go. I don’t know how to convert your miles to our mil at this moment so can’t give you the numbers. However, b20 b1 b23 engines are strong and last forever – if you give them some new oil now and then. Just like your old v8 engines, last for ever. I have a feeling that your 245k would be translated and answered as “it’s just as new” as a truthley joke.
