WIP-ae86 levin

hi here's my WIPs right now, and i have created a separate thread for this.
i bought the ae86 for a dollar at a hobby store, unfortunately it doent have a rear hatch glass, so im gonna fabricate one from acrylic sheet. this is also the first time i did custom work for front bumper and spoiler.

the story:
anyways, the build had taken a turn. originally it will be a black body/ red bumpers-trimmings paint scheme, but my editor (i work at a car online magazine) saw this ae86, asked if i could somehow paint it in our magazine's battle colors. so it will be blue with red and white trims.
oh, the plan is to build the ae86 as a budget daily driver/weekend drifter/racer. so expect to see some scratches and zip ties

this model will be on display for our magazine's street party next month, so most of my builds are halted.

here are some updates on my build:
fitment of rear glass hatch(the kit didnt have one)

hood vent

rear spoiler all smoothened up.muffler i will be using. yes th muffler is dirty, and has a lot of scratches. i'm going for the used kinda battered look of a battle car.

side view, stance of the ae86

front bumper. a little more sanding and putty to smoothen it, then it will be ready for primer

interior shot 1, half cage and fuel cell

interior shot 2, bucket seat with 4-point harness and stock seating

thanks for looking.

C & C welcome!!!

hanzel.

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

Twin Hachis are lookin' good, nice work on the front bumpers & hood vent. U gonna putty the edges of the rear spolier to 'merge' it into a singular piece with the rear hatch?

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

WIP ae86 levin
primered the body, a few holes and a little more putty/sanding

rear spoiler turned put nice and smooth

not bad for a first timer doing custom work eh?

WIP mazda FC3s RX7
already primered, with a new front chin from a nissan skyline R32. i didnt
like the stance of the front bumper, so i added a little something to make aggressive but stylish. and im trying to replicate the inital D rx7 of ryosuke(if i can find the tailights)

the FC with RS watanabe rims and aero sidemirrors

WIP mitsubishi evo 6 time attack primered

some minor WIP im doing while waiting for paints:
WIP mitsubishi starion

WIP nissan 300ZR

WIP VW golf mark II

and lastly, my cars:

Hey, that's the first time I've seen a Starion! Front spoiler on the 86 looks quite good as well.

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

Nice to see you working on the AE86! The interior looks really good, a harcdore race car! You have to tell me where you got the seatbelts from, or did you make them on your own? Anyway it looks good! Defenetily want to see more. The FC3S looks really good to! looks like the one from Inital D

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

i made the seatbelts from vynil sticker and some metal tape. i dont have any access to PE parts so custom fabrication is the way to go.

to everyone else, ok, i'll get clearer pics. most of my collection consists diecast and assorted scale cars

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

disaster struck the FC3S......\

the black paitn for the window trims reacted with the clear i was using, totally messed the body. the car is now being stripped, i gutted the hood and transplated a hood vent from a JGTC R34 skyline. it now looks like a RE amemiya hood.

Re: WIP-ae86 levin

Whoa, that Evo is eye-popping! The RE-type hood on the RX-7 looks great! Really sorry to hear that the paintjob went bad. What types of black trim paint and clear were you using?
