Question Don't wanna be a ricer

Alright here's the dilemma....i just got a '92 accord and 4th gen. accords have a shit load of potential...but, i just dont' know what to do with my car. I want it to look fast but i don't want to be a ricer...i'd rather make it fast before i actually went out and did all the body work and all. What should i do to make it fast..i don't want to turbo it..cuz that seems like a lil' too much...right now i'm pushin 125hp...i wanna get somewhere around 200 or so...possibly drop in a Bseries engine but i just dont' know what kind..i've got about 2K to spend just need advice..somebody help plz!

Engine Swap=$$$$$
If you were me (and I know you want to be ) You would invest in i/h/e first. Don't bother with looking fast, just Go Fast
There ya go. Really, though, do what you think feels good. These things come over time and its gonna take a while to buy 75 new horses. Forced induction should come later if you plan on driving this thing around for a while, I think.

So the biblical scholars mis-translated the Hebrew word for "young woman" into the Greek word for "virgin," which was a pretty easy mistake to make, since there is only a subtle difference in the spelling. But back then it was the "virgin" that caught people's attention. It's not every day a virgin conceives and bears a son. So you keep that for a couple of hundred years, and the nexy thing you know, you have the Roman Catholic church.

I plan on keeping this car around for a while..but i see a new engine in the near future b/c it's only ten years old and it's pushing 305K miles. it's blue booked @ 2000 and that's what i payed for it..but i want a lower mileage engine so i'll feel more comfortable about putting money into my car

Accords are very good platforms for H22 swaps. There is plenty of info floating around the internet on this swap. The H22 produces good power and should give you the reliability and power combination you are looking for.

if you have 305k miles i would go with a swap. Youll just end up putting money into that engine, and it'll die pretty soon, and it wont really be worth it. An h22a will cost you about 2500 for the motor, tranny ect (at least from honda motors online)

http://www.hondamotorsonline.com/sho...0Change%20Over

good swaps for you car would be like f22 h22 or h23

i forget what the really good place to get swaps from on the net is called. i prob wouldnt go with honda motors online anymore, ive heard theyre whack.

i agree with 91zc, go with h22 swap.

Don't put anything in the engine you have right now. Like the other guy said it will fall apart. And if you get I/h/e that will run you from 500-1000 and only give you like 10hp max. The h22a is rated at 200hp.

H22a powered accord!

yah dude 1/h/e is nothing compared to the horsepower to money ratio youll get from a swap. Not to mention the reliability.

I/H/E/ = intake/header/exhaust. And don't waste your money on it until you have decided for sure whether or not you are going to go turbo or get a different engine or keep your current engine and build it. I/H/E is basically like spending $1,000 to make your car sound fast..that's about it. You wont' start noticing gains until you do some REAL internal work to your engine. So save your $$ and buy an H22 or other engine swap and start off with a 175-200HP base to build off of. Otherwise you are wasting your $$.

I got my JDM B18C from hondamotorsonline.com I had a little bit of problem at first, they lost my order, but I called fixed things up and in 6 days my engine was here. Complete swap too, in two days it was installed (profesionally ofcourse). The only thing is, I never got a receipt, so if I get pulled over, I dont have proof that I bought the engine legally ( I have to call about that), and secondly I ordered JDM engine which I got, but the transmission was USDM. Which I like, longer gear ratios, faster on highways. Oh BTW JDM H22 are 220HP, so you might wanna consider that one.
