gas milage on a 2001 ls
can any body help me, every time I fill up it only reads that I have 260 etc; untill empty do do the computer recalculate becuase i'm only getting 15 miles to the gallon.

what are you asking? - bad mileage or do you think something is wrong with the calculation on the computer?

Since i bought the car a year ago it always reads when i fill it up 280 miles till empty. does that mean that the computer recalculates the miles till empty because i only get about 15 mpg.

it's an 18gallon tank - so 18 x 15mpg = 270~ish
it's an average over time. If you want to start over - simply disconnect your battery for 10mins or so - then reconnect it. it will take a few miles to settle out, but it will be a new calculation based on current mileage.
