Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint
Hi,
I want to smoke my real car tail light by using Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint. I know there's other brand of smoke spray paint for car but I couldn't get it from here. So I wonder how "good" will this spray paint for real car use? Will this hold good for all weather + car wash? It rains alot here in Vancouver and will snow a bit in winter time. Will rain & carwash wash off the paint easily? Thanks In Advance. Pascal |

Re: Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint
You're better off using a film on the outside of the lens as opposed to trying to spray.
Tamiya spray won't hold up in that temp extreme very well.

Re: Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint
I've seen it done a lot here at bike shops which modify. So, it can be done quite nicely. From what I've seen is they spray the signal lights from the inside. The temp here in Taiwan is 10'c-36'c.

Re: Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint
There's a product called "Night shade" thats is made to tint taillights and headlight, it comes in a spray can, check with you local auto parts store. I believe its $7-$8 dollars a can.

Re: Tamiya TS-71 smoke spray paint
We've used it on my friend's corner lights a few months ago. It has withstood rain, heat, road junk, street racing, autocrossing, and just regular road junk so far. If you go this route, you should try to dry them under a heat lamp for a ferw mins...or not..that might just melt them altogether. Second thought, if it's for a whole head or tail unit, I guess the tint film would be better.
