Hey, we all gotta start somewhere...Your lucky, with most Asian imports, upgrades are fairly cheap and easy to come by.

go with go fast mods first, then once your fast as you wanna be go for the looks. Get exhaust, headers, and a good intake to start or you can take the turbo route and skip the headers (but thats only if you have over $2000 to spend on the mods).

Re: Help! I am a newb
Intake exhaust headers and chip, and that good unless you wanna really get into it, and then F/I your car. Keep it simple, more shit you put on, more shit you need to worry about breaking.

Re: Help! I am a newb
I agree with drftk1d in saying you need to learn to drive your car first (and that's not saying you can't drive, just saying you need to learn the characteristics of your car first).
As for upgrades, if you're serious about racing, then you need to worry about your engine performance, tires, trans, and gears. I'm sure a body kit may have some kind of purpose (I'm not into imports, and I know very little about them, so I may be way off base) but i don't think a body kit is gonna help you in the least bit in performance. I guess you could argue more downforce, but I'm not sure that woudl be applicable unless you were doing speeds in excess (way excess) of 100 mph. You could consider weight reduction however, as that will do you as much good as increasing your horsepower (I think the saying goes something like "every 100 pounds you loose equals 1 tenth in the 1/4"). As for some engine mods, well the most comman are exhaust upgrades, headers, chip/programmers, ignition, etc. Those are the (relatively) cheap bolt-on mods that will get ya a noticeable gain in throttle response/feel. I do know alot of tuners go extreme and do entire engine swaps, but I would'nt know where to start in giving advice for that (now if you had a muscle car I could offer some advice here). Anyways, I hope that helps ya.
