BMW M1 "Carte de France" Lemans

This is my half of the "Trading Places" project.

The Revell M1 kit was the base and was combined with the Renaissance "Carte de France" decal/body and Scale Productions transkits. Body color is a custom mix by "Zero".

All clear parts were replaced with scratch built pieces from acetate. Scratch built shocks from 1/1 tire valves. Engine was detailed with some home made breather tubes and injector system, Side number lights were kindly provided by Seb from his MG build.

The Renaissance decals were great to work with and although it required quite a lot of clean up, the Revell kit itself wasn't so bad at the end of the day

Thanks to everyone who followed the WIP! (click here to see WIP)

BTW, this build was christened Gertrude

Unreal, I gathered so many useful tips from this! Thanks! One note I may add, sanding down the window trims to an accurate scale would really help. When they are thick they remove the scale perception of the built model.

Beautiful build, a job well done!

It turned out beautiful. And following your wip it was clear superior skills were needed to pull off that crazy masking and complex decalling. Not an easy build for sure. But you sure produced a great piece of work on this. Fantastyczny!
And also, the engine bay is super clean and flawless. Even with the close up pictures, its all eye candy.

Magnificent work, my friend. You've managed to make me excited for starting my own M1(s)- no small feat, I assure you. It's always a pleasure to follow one of your builds! opcorn:

Now, whatever happened to your accomplice...?
