4g63 or 420a???????

My brother owned a 95' TSI Talon. He loved the 4g63, I just recently bought a Eclipse GS, and came with the 420a. Now this is my project and before I do ANYTHING to the engine, is the 4g63 better, because that's what I am hearing so far. Please let me know if anyone Disagrees or Agree.

Re: 4g63 or 420a???????

Stock? Yes. It's much stronger than the 420a, and also comes in all of the turbo'd 90-99 Eclipse/Talon's and in the N/A 90-94 Eclipse/Talons. But if you build the 420a, it can be just as strong as the 4g63 and can support lots of power, but it takes quite a bit more money just to compete with the 4g63.

And even before you ask, no, you can't swap in a 4g63 into your car. The cost is upwards of $5000 and a TON of labor. If you really want a turbo, build the 420a or buy a car with the 4g63

Re: 4g63 or 420a???????

The 420a will support decient amounts of power stock. You can push around 200-225whp stock and still have reliability. Anything more and you should build it.

Re: 4g63 or 420a???????

All true...
Might as well start with a motor(4G63T) that is meant for a turbo than making a non turbo car turbo. In the long run if you buy a GS-T or GSX, you will be saving a lot of time and money!
