gs-t or gs-x

Hi
I have a 96 eclipse gs-t and i put some aftermarket parts into.

I was just wondering though if there the gsx is better or the same as the gs-t beside the gs-t is front wheel and the gsx is all wheel, but would it be better to sup up a gsx rather then a gs-t
is it worth bying a gsx if a already have a gs-t
Thanks alot
sry probably a weird ?

Re: gs-t or gs-x

It depends if AWD means that much to you or not. If your fine with squeeling the tires and having less traction when launching, then stick with your GST. But if you are running a lot of mods and want the AWD launch, then the choice is obvious. It's all what you want from the car.

Re: gs-t or gs-x

Yeah i would say it depends on your goals. I had anywhere from 300-400hp goals for my car and it looks like its gonna be 300 for the time being. My buddy with a GS-T, close to 500 hp (hasn't been dynoed yet) is kickin himself in the ass for not buyin an awd. I will say i rode in his car and there was some loss of traction in 3rd gear with a scm61 on dry road. With my car i did a WOT pull in 1st gear after it had just got done raining and i heard a little screech of the tires, and the back end came out just a bit, with a 16G, and that was the only traction loss ive ever seen in it. Of course results may very from car to car. You can still get drag radials to put on the FWD if you are wanting to run at the track. But personally i would say if u are just lookin for a quick cruiser with moderate HP, stick with the FWD, if u want a track star with high HP get an AWD. Either way, with the right mods and driving, u are still gonna outrun most of the competition in ur class.

Re: gs-t or gs-x

Yeah, no difference besides the FWD and AWD... In my opinion, AWD is better for launching and handling... If those two things don't matter to you then I would stick with the GST...

Re: gs-t or gs-x

AWD combined with lower gear ratios make the GSX a much better choice for drag racing. Since drag racing is just about all I do, I'm extremely partial to the AWD.

Re: gs-t or gs-x

Well like Kevin here is addicted to drag racing, I love road racing....and AWD is definitly the choice for that too. I personlly love being able to drive my car around town as well with the AWD....It is a very comfortable ride for me...Driving FWD feels wierd to me now...and I dont really like it at all....

Another ? while you're at it (I figure this would be relevant to the question Nick asked) Does the AWD torque steer? (remember, mine hasn't been put together yet)

Nope... At least I don't remember mine doing it. If it does, it is ever so slight.

Re: gs-t or gs-x

it depends if one of the mods for the gst is to convert it to AWD,, then there's no contest . seriously tho,, i would get a gsx instead. if it was awd vs rwd then it wouldnt be that bad, but fwd cars are generally notorious for poor launching. either that or throw some really wide wheels on the front lol.

Niiice, torque steer on the FWD was a MOFO'in PITA... Especially without P/S... Both hands on the wheel except when shifting...

Re: gs-t or gs-x

They don't torque steer, but I remember the 2g launching every time completely sideways with about 45-90 degrees of counter-steer to keep the pointy end facing the finish line. My AWD burnouts to clean the tires off are usually a decent crowd pleaser too.

Re: gs-t or gs-x

True story. Stock tires are over a grand a set, WTF... I'm going with MXs next, less than half that. But luckily with AWD we can't really spin them enough to really wear them down. Just enough to clean them off (and I still get enough traction that I have to slam on the brakes before I cross the start line Jon Force stylee) or to get squirrelly on the launch.
