Lada 2112 S1600 1:24

Hi! I'm 18 Years old modeller from Finland and that was all what I can say in english.Because there are no 1:24 Lada kit or diecast model, I have to made the body from aluminium and copper and the chassis from copper. Roll bar is steel. The model represents Rally St. Petersburg 2001 version.
And there are some picks.

The whole story is here, but in finnish .

I'm trying to update this projekt in english, wish I could have more time

You must be a big Lada fan, incredible work invested in this model. And in the end it realy looks good even for Lada. Great job!

Spede, first welcome here.

I understood wrong or is it a whole scratchbuild? IMHO the design is awful like often from lada but... my god if I understand right your skills are not human. More picts of the process starting from 0 to the actual result?

You are Superman!!!! Very nice scratchbuilt. Look so real so I think this is factory-made model.

I haven't got pics from the beginning because I didn't own a camera before.

The pre-primer photos make it look like it's based off a diecast of the car?

Re: Lada 2112 S1600 1:24

I just registered here yesterday. I've been, however, visiting this forum for a long time. I though, that I could help you guys, and translate what spede has written in that Finnish car model forum about his project. Okay, I did it, and then clicked "submit Reply" button. Then it happened, that this page logged me out, and the post was gone. It was so long post, that I don't have now time to write it again, but will be doing that later.

Yes, it looks like that, but there is no diecast model of this car in existence. The body is scartchbuilt, according to the posts in the Finnish car modelling forum. Spede has built also a Citroen C4 WRC before and there is no ready model of that car either afaik.

Re: Lada 2112 S1600 1:24

That is truly amazing! I was already extremely impressed and then I saw that it had all opening panels....

Superb work!

Do you have any photos showing how you made the body? I'd be very interested in seeing those, as (one day) I'm going to convert a Revell diecast 1:18 Volvo Amazon 2 door saloon into a estate (with all opening panels) to match my everyday car.

Re: Lada 2112 S1600 1:24

Chassis pics of lada were very hard to find so I have used little artist freedom.

All the parts, nearly, some clear and little parts are not in this picture.
I used Airfix citroen xsara's seats as base but as you see, there are not alot the original seats left.

After painting.

I just heard that Heller has introduced C4 WRC, will be interesting to see how much heller's version differs from my version
