Re: interior carpet wet before driven

If its not water tracked in by your feet then you have some sort of leak. The heater core if bad can leak but it would smell sweet and have color to it.

Though, most grand ams are leak monsters, depending on the year/model it can leak in several places on the fire wall area. THe door gaskets, or if you have a sun roof they can leak if th edrains and gakstes are bad.

Hope that helps.

On most Grand AM's if the passenger side of the carpet is wet - most likely it is heater core

How do you know this is a Grand Am? Most likely an Olds Achieva.

Please post the year, make and model of your GM car since this is a GM N Body forum which covers a wide variety of N Body cars.

Yea, read post #2.

Also Check the HVAC drain under the hood on the firewall.

I have this same problem on my 96 Cutlass Supreme --- is there a hose that connects to the portion of the heater core cover that protrudes through the firewall?

I know that is were mine is leaking ---

Thank you
