Short Cuts

Thanks AMGalltheway, I knew there had to be intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe.

AMGalltheway > What if you use a shortcut to get in front of the leader?
I thought about that one. If your opponent takes the long route and you take the short route. You are essentially on the same course. Just as the course of a great river may surround many islands. i.e. the road adopts a tortuous course along the coast.

3. The finish is when the Pursuer quits the course.

I do not think you are quitting the course when you take a short cut. Your intent is clear enough. You are still in the race. As long as the leader does not turn off before the junction, when he gets back on the road, you are in front. You are the leader, you now can choose the remaining course.

I mean like when you are in front you have to choose your roads well enough so that that cannot happen to you. Because if it does you will no longer be in front, when they get back on the road ahead of you.

This really becomes a problem when you get so far in front that you do not know if the pursuer reentered the road you are on or not. "I have waited."

But if they know about the other road they know that they do not have a clear win when they see you turn off on to it. And you know you have a win, when nothing goes wrong on your sidetrip, whether the former leader knows it or not. It’s mental but it definitely can be a win for you, and uncertainty for the pursuer.

In any case your taking the short cut spoiled their possible win.

Re: Short Cuts

I'm still confused... how does any of this even work?

I mean, if I race somebody... I get ahead of them. I win... if some jackhole in a Geo just keeps going and going... do I have to keep racing and stay ahead of him? Or do we just keep going till I run out of gas and he keeps on trucking along?

Honestly, where does it end?

Once again, I'm still confused!?

Re: Short Cuts

The thread starter has managed to take something so pointlessly simple that it rivals breathing in it lack of complexity...

and made it retardedly difficult. Congrats, you have managed to take away the innocence of young children with your doings. Please, for the love of all non sanctioned racing everywhere, just stop breathing.

Oh, and I can beat your supid little system...

If, for whatever cokehead stupid reason, I'm trying to do this general concept of racing on the street, as soon as I get ahead of the other fucker, even if its only becuase I out launched them, I'll hit the breaks and say the course is over. Then, rule number three is null and void, and hopefully the logic vacume created will cause your head to explode.

Re: Short Cuts

This is by far the weirdest post i've ever read, and i've read a lot of them.

Are you trying to say that if you take a side road during a race, and dude who's racing you doesn't slam on his brakes and go mad drifting around the tyte turn with you, then you automatically win...i think when someone does that during a drag race it means they have small penis syndrome and cant handle being beaten....or i may have completely misread that incoherent shitty post that features old west equestrians....

Edit: Just read other thread, and this is still stupid..

Re: Short Cuts

To the thread starter...I don't know what to say. Lay off whatever it is that's sparking your incoherent babbling, and do us all a favor next time you post. Thanks...locked.
