WIP Mustang Shelby GT500 1969

Hello to everybody,
As I made this kit 15 Years ago, I decided to make a new one, with the (new?) revell kit.....(old Monogram anyway..... )
OK here I go.
First I decided to make all moving body parts (doors, trunk, etc ) ......movable, I opened all the parts.

This work was donne with a N° 11 blade, as usual....

I made a lip in plasticard aroud the trunk opening...

I then had to make the possibility to remove the ceter part of the grille to paint the body without tricky masking....
see her how I made it.

Here two pictures showing the possibility to put the grille in place after....

I then made the hinge and put it in place...

That's the result for the working hinge...

So that's it for today.
Next I will work a litlle to the inside part of the trunk.
Sorry for my bad English.....
Hope this will interest somebody...
See you,

Jamme

Heck, it interests me a whole lot!! I have this kit but have yet to start it. I really like your trunk hinge; so much that I may copy its design! keep up the great progress on this one! Do you have any ideas about the color yet?

Thank You for your interest.
Hinge idea is not only mine and not copyrighted........
The collor will be "Ford Acapulco Blue" a true colour for this car.
Interior will be Black.
As the real car only had 3 possibilities for the inside.....
Black, White and Red....
See you,

Jamme

Looking good, and very neat hinges! Are you going to do the doors in the same way?

Re: WIP Mustang Shelby GT500 1969

Hello to all,
I worked a little on my car today......
The inside of the trunk door has to be a little detaillet.
This is done using plasticard, putty, etc......

Here is the door nearly finished....
What you need also to do in order for the door closing well, is removing a part of the thikness ou the door....
This was made whit a bit and files....
Soory the picture isn't very sharp....

To change a bit, I began to work on the engine.
This is the linkage molded on the Gearbox.........

I shaved all the linkage, as it has to be replaced by photo etched parts, plasticard bolts and wire....
here are the different steps....:

The Oilpan, is missing is bolt.....

This is once more made of plasticard, as is the washer.....:
